The following outlines past and present projects, all of which show the versatility and adaptability of CCS Surveying. As Constructed Records (Water & Sewers) Using RTK GPS Equipment we survey the water/sewer installation recording the asset inventory data (pipe material, diameter, etc...) and associated attribute information (Manhole Invert level, cover level, valve, FH, etc.....), to produce GIS Record Drawing in line with Water Service Code of Practice.  Reinstatement areas can be measured, sewer and watermain connection points are accurately located. Connection details are easily verified on site with Contractors/Designers representative to ensure site knowledge is incorporated within As Built Record of New Installation and Abandoned lengths are identified/reflected. Data Capture of Parking Restrictions CCS Surveying are currently recording attribute and positional data on parking restrictions, throughout N.Ireland.  The data collected consists of road signs and road markings, with attribute information such as line quality and TRO's(Traffic Contravention Order). Due to the urban nature of this project, CCS opted to use the Trimble Geo XT Handheld for the Data collection and Fastmap Software to handle the mapping issues and data management. The research and development on this project was carried out in close liaison with the client to deliver a product that suited their corporate system.  CCS compiled several bespoke data libraries, which when loaded onto the handhelds enable the efficient and practical capture of the data. Digital Cameras are used to record the condition of signs and to show were changes to land boundaries differ from the vector mapping. Each photograph was given a unique reference, recorded against the specific GPS point. Data is both validated in the office and on site, before completed data sets are merged and sent to the client, in the required GIS format. Manhole Cover Level Surveys / Drainage Area Studies RTK GPS Surveying enables high accuracy levelling to be achieved over many Kilometres without the use of OSNI Benchmarks.  Traditional survey methods require many hours to be spent searching for benchmarks to obtain survey control for elevation purposes.  A series of 'Post Processing' exercises are applied to GPS Survey Data to obtain the desired level of accuracy.  This elevation accuracy coupled with accurate Northing and Easting co-ordinates provide a secure solution compatible with all leading GIS Formats and Water Service corporate GIS. River Embankment Settlement Surveys Used to survey the 'crest' of river embankments for flood control and analysis purposes. The benefits of RTK GPS Solution become very apparent in remote locations where high accuracy should not be sacrificed and is achievable through minimal effort. GIS Personnel Contracts CCS Surveying have a number of their qualified GIS professionals seconded into Engineering Consultants across Northern Ireland. These experienced personnel are actively working on Water Service Zonal Studies, Water Mains Rehabilitation and Environmental Management System (EMS) contracts. Many are located within the Network Information Centres (NIC) manipulating water and sewer network data, digitising paper records, data validation and reporting tasks using clients corporate Information Management Systems.
